December 2011 |

|
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! It's hard to believe that 2011 has come and gone so quickly and that this is the last Eagle Flyers update for this year. 2011 has been another exciting year at Montgomery Aviation and Eagle Flyers and we can't wait to see what 2012 brings. If you're already a pilot - we hope you'll continue to exercise that wonderful freedom of flight in 2012, and if not, well then - it's time to get your license and become one.
This is a packed edition of the newsletter with tons of important information - please read all the way through.
Going Social
What's the best way to stay informed about recent news and happenings at Eagle Flyers and Montgomery Aviation - especially between newsletters? That's right - "Like" us on Facebook. There are pages for both Eagle Flyers and Montgomery Aviation that are updated almost daily with great information and important updates. We've made it easier than ever - just check out the left side of the screen on the new MontgomeryAviation.netwebsite and click "Like".
Still not convinced?
Until the end of this month - go to the Eagle Flyers and Montgomery Aviation Facebook pages and sign-up for your chance to:
WIN A $50 AMERICAN EXPRESS GIFT CARD
All you have to do is "Like" the page and sign-up. It's that simple. And for Eagle Flyers, if you get 5 friends to "Like" us and sign-up - you automatically get a special gift (hint: It's a good one if you like flying).
Don't miss out - "Like" us and sign-up today, then go tell your friends.
Blog
Another great way to keep informed is by following the Montgomery Aviation Blog. You can get there by either going to blog.montgomeryaviation.net or by looking on the left side of the Montgomery Aviation homepage - there is a scrolling update of the latest news and information, just click on it to read the entire article.
What will you find here? Great stories like a recent surprise engagement at TYQ, information about our newest employees, important aviation related stories and information, and the latest happenings at Eagle Flyers and Montgomery Aviation.
New Faces
As some of you may know, Michelle has left us to pursue a wonderful new career opportunity. She will certainly be missed by everyone, as we know she has become a friend and a familiar sight at Eagle and Montgomery over the years. We wish her the very best. We are excited that Becky Walker, who many of you may know from Frankfort, will be taking Michelle's position. Please welcome Becky to TYQ the next time you see her.
What are they digging for?
Wondering what the construction along the taxiways is all about? It might be obvious - but you are no longer going to have to worry about finding your away along the taxiways in the dark. The Hamilton County Airport Authority is installing taxiway lights that should be operational yet this month.
Thank you again for making 2011 an amazing year! We hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Your Friends at Montgomery Aviation and Eagle Flyers

THE "BIG GAME" IN INDIANAPOLIS
|
The "Big Game" this February will mean big things for Indianapolis Executive Airport and Montgomery Aviation. Sometime in mid-December you will likely see a temporary air traffic control tower arrive and start being installed. This tower will transform Indy Exec (TYQ) from an uncontrolled airfield to a controlled airfield from Wednesday, February 1st until Monday, February 6th. Final times of tower operational hours on those dates will be available shortly. Additionally, look for the official FAA NOTAM to be released around December 15th with additional information on routes, frequencies, and operations during the week of the game. The official TFR will be released just shortly before the game. You'll want to make sure you are well informed about special procedures before operating your aircraft around those dates. For more information, visit the Aviation section of the Super Bowl Host Committee Website at: www.indianapolissuperbowl.com
Please share the information below with fellow pilots and dispatchers in other communities who may be looking for the right airport destination during the big game:
Montgomery Aviation at Indianapolis Executive Airport (TYQ) invites you to join us for the Big Game this February in Indianapolis. On the popular north-side of Indianapolis, Indy Exec is a short drive from Lucas Oil stadium while conveniently situated near some of the region's most acclaimed restaurants, hotels, and entertainment. At Indy Exec, you'll experience the comforts of an all weather canopy for protected arrivals and departures, airplane and runway de-icing, heated hangars, gourmet catering, limousine and car rental, and from February 1st - 6th a temporary control tower.

January 14 - Eagle Flyers Fly-out to Coles County Airport Steakhouse
 |
| Mattoon Fly-Out |
We had a number of great fly-outs in 2011. The weather didn't cooperate for them all - but we had a great time whenever it did. We are going to take the month of December off due to the holiday season and will resume our fly-outs in January. We'll keep it close since the winter weather can be so unpredictable and head to Kacey J's in Muncie.
As always - we'd like to get rolling from TYQ at 10:00AM - so please meet before then so we can match up rides and people. If you are going and have extra spots, or need a spot - please contact Pat Gaston and we'll pair you up.
If there is bad weather, come to TYQ anyway, and we'll drive somewhere for lunch and hangar talk.
Date & Time: Saturday, January 14, 2012 | 10:00AM
Location: Indianapolis Executive Airport | 11329 East State Road 32
